I’ve been working on several quick black and white drawings. There’s something I like about pen and ink. Probably the challenge of trying to create a sense of subtle value changes using only black and white.

I browse around for inspiration and really like the work of Kennon James. So while waiting for trick or treaters this evening I sketched out this response to his submission for the Illustration Friday theme “Skinny”. Hope you don’t mind Kennon:

Grave digger Pincus Mclean holds vigil late at night
bolstered by a sanguinary hatred for the resurrection man,
and confident that any attempt to abscond with his day’s work
will result in a heavy serving of lead in his backside.
